bike dilemma
Posted in cycling on March 16, 2008 by mulhollanddriveman. i shouldn’t gone and watch those NYC messenger videos/ fixed gear fiends. NOW I WANT A FIXIE! should i keep my raleigh bike:
or try to sell it then buy this Basso vintage road bike to convert to FG?
Advantages of the Basso:
-Trackbike-like geometry with straight top-tube, something I really like in roadies.
-Relatively ok parts with nice saddle.
-Shouldn’t be too hard to convert to FG, but I think i’ll need new wheels with fixed hubs.
Disadvantages:
-COST COST COST!!
geez. i wished i had more money. i think im gonna rob someone and say ” IF YOU HAVE A FIXED GEAR BIKE IT’LL BE YOUR ONLY TICKET OUT OF THIS MISTER!!!” cycling’s supposed to be make you happy but i’m not cos i always want the cool bikes i see others have 😦 or maybe i should beg my mom for this Charge Plug? a very nice fixie!

i totally suck at differentiation. stuff i once thought was easy eludes me now. i cant even do stat. points! let alone rates of change! let alone minima and maxima! oh my geez i’m so screwed. all that could pass through my head today was to ride, ride and ride. i love riding.

a great ride
Posted in cycling, life on March 14, 2008 by mulhollanddrivejust came back from riding the 17km home-yishun ave 1 bridge-seletar airport-jalan kayu-back home route. took just over 1hr including stops. incredibly beautiful ride, especially across the yishun ave 1 bridge.
isnt that beautiful? this is the view looking down south, one can just make bt timah hill in the distance ( about 11km away, straight-line distance ). very relieving sight amid the chaotic urban life a singaporean invariably leads.
inside seletar, it seemed like a whole new world. short colonial-like houses amid vast tracts of greenery reminded me of the Singapore of yesteryear ( though i never lived in that period ). i didnt take any photos as i was busy riding/resting(lol) and enjoying the scenery. i stopped by thohirah (sp?) restaurant and jalan kayu for my favourite mee goreng. ABSOLUTELY delicious. very nice. so was the teh ping. on the ride back, i saw dark clouds gathering over the southern part of singapore.
i kinda like wordpress. it encourages me to blog!
history paper

SBQ was hard but the essays were manageable. i did qn 2 , 4 ,5 . i didn’t like the globalisation question as there isn’t enough examples in my head to fill out a sufficient essay. my brain feels dead, so does my fingers. writing 19 pages in 3 hours is very tiring!
wanted to go cycle with supt. ong but he decided that rain would ruin his smooth,bouncy complexion. lol. i guess it’s postponed but i hope we’ll ride tonight. changed my image header and i think it looks stupendously cool. DONT YOU THINK SO!
ok i want to go ride to jalan kayu and get some mee goreng. dam good sia.
i’ll upload my other ride pictures soon enough.

i have finished revising start of cold war. 3 more to go!! cold war is rather easy to memorize, as it has been ingrained into my memory from countless previous mugging sessions. life rolls by fast when you’re enjoying it, but crawls at a snail’s pace when you’re hating it. like now. studying. SUCKS.
i just went for a night cycle around my (friendly)Â neighbourhood of chong pang picking up supplies for my Frankenstein dinner, thanks to BLACKPOTATOES!! i await a certain someone in replying me but she is also studying. ggez. what’s the whole world coming to! i talked to reuben and it felt good cos he only studied up till econs l4. it’s like a refreshing take on the issue of studying.
